ABSTRACT

In the context of modular distance learning, in particular, extreme heat poses special issues for the education sector. In addition to the difficulties associated with distant learning, secondary teachers now have to deal with extra challenges brought on by inclement weather. This study examines the teaching tactics teachers use to provide their students with relevant learning experiences as well as the motivational factors that propel them to succeed in spite of these obstacles. Also, it investigates how secondary teachers adapt their motivation and teaching strategies in modular distance learning during periods of extreme heat. To demonstrate how the data, relate to one another, the study used a quantitative research design with questionnaire administration. The study involves 32 teachers from Senior High School Department. Based from the findings flexible scheduling, interactive modules, collaborative projects, utilization of technology and self-care promotion are the strategies adapted by the teachers to continue delivered quality education. Also, various challenges were encountered by teachers and students particularly on their health and the learning process. and the innovative strategies employed to maintain motivation and ensure effective teaching in such challenging circumstances. As output of the study, a strengthened innovative program and learning development kit was proposed by the researcher to maintain teachers and students’ motivation and ensure effective teaching even during the time of modular distance learning because of extreme heat.
